A few talk a little about the “community” that is built with Social Mass media. It’s interesting the best way to become linked with people who you may never see. worldstop10list
It reminds me of the first “mental health” job I had fashioned in school while getting my N. S. degree (yes My spouse and i see the humor in those letters) in Mindsets. I was a counselor with a suicide servicenummer called We Care in Orlando. You only got the person’s voice to go by, also to my knowledge, I’ve never achieved one person I talked with. Well, that is other than a pal who called in with a prank one night. But that’s another story.
So then it felt normal in my opinion after 20 years in one on one private practice to get started coaching people on the phone.
I still like working in person, and is actually a joy now to assist people I discipline in seminars as they build their internet marketing business.
So back to this thing about “Community and Social Media”. Sure I’ve linked with old friends through Social Multimedia. That and the competition for “likes” and “comments” on Facebook and other Social networking platforms does give this somewhat of a “high school feel” every now and then.
That aside, here are some cool examples of the city feel you can build with both those you know and people you don’t know.
A previous internet marketing student and now friend and coworker who has done very well recently went through the second bout of pneumonia which hospitalized her. Not really a good thing for anyone, and especially not a good thing for a professional speaker. I used to be able to keep up with her treatment and be part of a sizable support group from very far as a result of Facebook.
Aimee Copeland, fellow Georgia resident who I really do not know and will probably never meet, has fought a significant challenge this year. Falling from a zip line that broke over a creek, she cut her leg and contracted an uncommon fleshing eating disease. Provided a 1% potential for your survival, she lost her still left leg from the hip down, her right feet and both her hands. Recent reports tell all of us that she left the hospital for treatment and after only 4 times of treatment she is feeding herself and combing her own teeth. Her fighting spirit and the support of her family and community has recently been a joy to watch, and a joy to be a very small part of through Community Media.
Those are remarkable examples. As valuable and meaningful is the simple sharing in the lives of others in this far flung community.
One more example of this popular community is sharing in the daily marketing and more wisdom of Seth Godin. A prolific article writer and communicator, his articles come right to my email inbox everyday.
